This is expected to continue into the fall. I recently attended an Insurance Town Hall to discuss what is happening with our State of California Insurance Commissioner. He is targeting a new statewide insurance system for capturing information to be online and available to all insurance providers by the end of year which will make it far easier to GEO target insurance to a specific property using much better information about specific neighborhoods etc.
The end result will be that we should expect to pay more for all types of insurance, although the hopes are that more insurance providers will start to return to the state in 2025 which can make insurance more competitive.
For the time being, unless you have something catastrophic happen, claims to your insurance provider may result in them cancelling your future coverage or at the very least increasing your premium.
