Tonight the Oakland Berkley Board of Realtors Community Foundation will award over 20 local non-profit organizations focusing on Homeless, Elderly, Handicapped and Youth groups in the East Bay. As a board member, this is something I am extremely passionate about. This year we will be awarding almost $100,000 in grant money raised by donations from agents and the local real estate community.
The local real estate market continues to be hot, especially when comparing it to what is happening nationally. The largest contributor to our continued market strength comes from limited inventory, especially in the single family home sector of our business.
Interest rates for both purchasing and re-financing are at a low. 30 year fixed term loans are currently being offered below 4% and there are even more options with financing below 3%.
