Happy August and hopefully you and your family are enjoying the final days of summer.
U.S. real estate is changing. Starting this month a buyer can no longer assume a seller will pay the buyer's broker fee. Previously, the seller would usually set the fee the buyer's broker would be paid. Moving forward this will be negotiated by the buyer's agent and the buyer when they make an offer.
Buyers will now have to sign an agreement to pay their broker and agent just like a seller does in advance. Buyer's will be expected to share the agent who will be representing them when they attend open houses.
These changes will come with all new paperwork, rules and regulations.
Do you have questions about how this will impact a transaction related to how you will participate?
Let's schedule time to discuss the scenario right for you or those you care about.
